We know you are working on an editor for Train Sim World - will we see it being launched in 2020?

Work on the editor for Train Sim World is ongoing, and is currently in a closed Beta phase.
There’s more work to be done before it’s ready, and we hope to be able to share more with players in the near future.

Är inte det ungefär samma replikinnehåll som gavs vid denna tid för ett år sen? Typ "corporate bullSh*"... "In near future", ja tjena, det är ju inte ett direkt svar på om det blir någon editor 2020 direkt...

Den är inte nedlagt i varje fall som jag trodde ett tag.
Har för mig att det var Alpha version för ett år sedan nu är det closed Beta och då är det ju rätt nära release. enligt nedan länk.
Så jag tror under 2020 har vi den. Men de säger ingen tidtabell och är rätt tyst om den så man vet inte.

Jag hoppas att du har rätt, men jag är fortfarande mycket skeptisk. Jag gjorde bort mig för ett år sedan och köpte TSW eftersom jag tolkade signalerna att nu j*klar är editorn inte långt borta... Men, det var den ju...

Another Daily Star article from July 2018 says:
Content editing tools are definitely coming for TSW - we don't have a release date planned for them yet...
It's the same old story. Where's the public beta which was supposed to happen in 2018, before being postponed until 2019, now what? Is it postponed until 2020? 2021? Who knows, not even DTG themselves apparently.

We haven't even seen the public Editor, not even a screenshot. All the screenshots and the live stream show the in-house version, not the public version. So the only evidence we have that the public Editor is even being developed is DTG saying that it definitely is, meanwhile they miss deadline after deadline whilst showing nothing of substance. Don't forget, the Editor is a high priority for DTG, they've been working around the clock for the last 3 years, but still, not even a screenshot to show for it.

Om editorn nu är i "closed beta", och då borde vara i kontrollerad "ganska nära"-release... Varför ger han då inte ett rakryggat svar att ja den kommer 2020... Nu undviker han på ett ganska osmakligt sätt att svara på den frågan.

Jag tror att editor finns. Det verkar inte vara släppt. Tyskland och USA verkar ha editor eftersom de kan bygga landskap och tåg.
Så jag är tveksam att övriga användare får editor.

Varför skulle matt Peddlesden ljuga om detta.
Allt annat han har sagt har ju stämt Vad skulle de tjäna på att ljuga om den.
De har sagt att den ska komma men aldrig egentligen sagt när.
Men folk hoppades ju naturligtvis för ett år sedan och det trodde nog Dovetail också.
We are targeting this year (2018) to release the tools into an Open Beta and will get more specific with dates as we progress.

Det är nästan hatiskt på forumet när det gäller detta och det är dessa du tar upp. Man tror inget vad Dovetail gör. Men 2 gånger har de nu sagt under december att den inte är nedlagt men de gör ingen tidtabell.
Visst den kommer kanske ut 202x men jag själv tror på 2020.

Matt har sagt flera gånger att när nyproduktionen är viktigare än utvecklingen han skrev det i samband med Headsway.
Så nu skriver de aldrig när den är klar utan de väntar tills den är klar.
Jag tycker väl personligen att de borde skriva mer om den eftersom den är så viktig och de har valt att berätta att den ska komma. Så jag håller väl inte med dem om detta


Att det blivit så här vet vi inte.

• Men ledande folk i utvecklingsteamet kan ha sagt upp sig
• Ekonomin. De har prioriterat ny produktion istället för utveckling som de
  tjänar direct pengar på. Flight sim world nedläggningen är ju inte en direkt fördel här. De la ned mycket pengar på utveckling men fick inte igen pengarna här
• De vill ha in nya finesser och fått göra omtag på den eller rent av vänta in ny Unreal version. Uppgradera Core engine.

Cab Sway is a good example of why NOT to talk about things until the day before launch. It's been in and out of dev probably for the best part of a year. We've had prototypes that were almost there for months but with varying degrees of issues. But it's had to keep being put down to work on more urgent things that have come up like solving crashes or performance stuff etc. At one point it was nearly coming out for the Wuppertal release, but a couple of issues were found and it was felt we should resolve those first - so it was delayed to the ECW release.

So any time in the last 12 months or so, Cab Sway *could* have felt like it was in a fair position to say "its coming", and that would have been wrong.

That's why it's much better to wait until the ink is dry on the release before announcing things.

Communication on stuff like this is tough, and it's never going to satisfy the masses. In the mean time, however, enjoy sway, it's there now!

Men de är ju inte direkt tydliga ändå. Men det har blivit så mycket spekuleringar om den så de kände sig nog tvingade att gå in och säga något.

Just to remind you that at the outset we said we won't release the editor until it is absolutely ready to go out the door.
The reason you've not heard anything is because there really isn't anything to tell you. As far as we're concerned, the editor is still very much in progress and nothing has changed in our plan to release it.

We do totally get you're really keen and eager to get started in the editor, and your patience is wearing a bit thin, but we won't share any details until we're ready to.

As some individuals are deliberately intent on misleading people, we would advise:
if a post regarding the editor does not include a direct link to an official post/article published by someone employed by DTG, on one of our official channels, you should regard it as:

probably the poster's or someone else's opinion
probably speculation or theory crafting
probably not true and/or deliberately intended to mislead
probably intended to encourage a reaction from you to further fuel their intent to disrupt/upset
probably not something you should take seriously
