I'm running through the scenario now with all trains as AI trains. It's a bit easier as you can just let the sim run in the background without having to control any train yourself.
Waiting for the meet at Rautas now so we'll see how it goes... |

I sent up a drone to have a look when the trains meet.
![]() The switch at Rautas was laid correctly, so Gt 9914 passed on track 1 while the veteran train waited on track 2. I think unfortunately the dispatcher just does weird things sometimes! A few things to consider: - Make sure to be on time, as AI trains generally just look if the next signal block is free. If you're late, AI trains may move into track where you don't want them, or they can get stuck in the wrong position because they are not able to find a valid route. - Never start a scenario directly from the route or scenario editor as this causes all sorts of weird problems with signalling and the dispatcher. |

Hello Hgv
thank you for your investigation! I am sure that I arrived in Rautas absolutely on time. Probably 2 minutes earlier than the timetable. But I will certainly try again. Suggestion: I would like to see a scenario by driving an iron train from Kiruna towards Narvik. May just the route Kiruna to Stenbacken. In such scenario it comes to different train crossing, like empty iron trains back from Narvik. Super it would also exist an overtaking passenger train at a station on the route. Would such a scenario be possible? I would be very happy with a such scenario, of course! Thank you very much and have a nice evening Yellow |

Please try again with the veteran train and let me know how it goes. If you get the same problem again, I'll have to make some tweaks in the scenario editor. The problem is that "on paper" it should work perfectly, so it's hard to know why it stops working - it might be that the AI/dispatcher behaviour is a bit unpredictable unfortunately.
Citat:
In the meantime I could make something with the Dm3 loco, maybe something set in the 70s/80s like this? Or early 2000s like this? Which era would be more interesting? All brown trains or a bit more colour? ![]() It's interesting when you look at the timetables, both the current and old ones, you can see that the loaded trains usually don't stop at all, while trains going the other way have to stop at almost every station. I guess it makes sense that the heaviest trains should avoid stopping as much as possible. |

@hgv
Your question: All brown trains or a little more color? More color would be nicer. How about the RC locomotives? I think that these RC loks also drove or still drive on this route? Greetings Yellow |

@hgv
With scenario: 'Veteran Tag Björkliden-Kiruna' I have a lot of trouble. I tried multiply time. With long distance scenario, I'm using often the time accelaration (by using EnableAsyncKeys). I tried with 5x acceleration on the long part of driving. But slow down on any station, signal and so on. The scenario dosn't worked. The train GT42692 didn't move at all and blocked switches and rest of route. Then I tried with max 2x acceleration the same happends. So I tried the scenario with normal speed 1x the whole way. I started on Bjorkliden on 12:28. In Stordalen I arrived 12:45 on track 2. I had to wait to train GT9912. The train passed on 12:54. But the signal dosn't change to green. I hat to klick manually to the switch. All the times I've got the message 'it is blocked by the train GT9912. On 12:55 I could change the switch and could drive further in direction Bergfors. On Bergfors I arrived on 13:26 on track 'station'. Then I could drive about 300 meters to next signal, which was red. I checked in the 2D menu, I saw the GT42604 still between Kiruna and Krokvik and was NOT moving. So the scenario ended here, because there where no possibility to get a green signal. The train GT42604 blocked the rest of the scenario. I checked the scenario in den scenario editor menu. Inside of scenaro edit mode, with the time acceleration function, I was able to observe the full scenario and it worked (as you described earlier). But in normal drive mode the scenario will not work. In my opinion instead the AI train will drive such a long way trough this route, it would be better to place more 'Portals' where the AI-trains appear and disappear short to the places, where they should crossing the driver train. But as far as I know, you can only set new Portals in route edit mode and not in scenario edit mode? Because, in scenario edit mode, I couldn't insert a new portal (not in list). In route edit mode, there was the portal object avaiable for insert. But I din't insert it, because after route change may other scenario will may not work anymore? I sure, you are more expert than I! What you think? Kind regards Yellow |
